Submissions
RAW in FOCUS is a documentary photography magazine dedicated to field-based work engaging with the living planet — wildlife, environments, landscapes, and human presence, and the spaces where they intersect.
We are interested in cohesive bodies of work, not single images. The photography should lead. Text is minimal and contextual. Narrative pieces are welcome, but the work must remain image-driven.
What We’re Looking For
We consider work engaging with wildlife, landscapes, marine environments, human–nature relationships, and environmental change, particularly when shaped by long-term observation, intimate access, and a strong sense of place.
We consider submissions that are:
Field-based and grounded in direct experience.
Documentary, observational, or quietly expressive.
Focused on wildlife, nature, environment, or human–nature relationships.
Presented as a coherent series or project.
We are not interested in:
Heavily staged or composite imagery.
Generic travel photography.
Over-processed images that significantly distort reality.
Image sets created primarily for social media.
Contributor Rights
You retain full copyright to your work.
If your submission is selected, RAW in FOCUS receives a non-exclusive permission to publish the work on our site and to promote the feature editorially (e.g. social media and newsletters), with credit. Backlinks to your website or social profiles are automatically included.
We do not:
claim ownership of your images.
require exclusivity.
resell or license your work.
use contributor work in advertising.
We do not pay for submissions. Any commissioned or assigned work is agreed separately in writing.
